Jon Salkeld has joined Castrol innoVentures in the position of technology director, in a move that brings data and deep technical expertise to the step out innovation group.
Jon brings a wealth of experience commercialising technologies from big data to advanced engineering to frontier physics. He will be responsible for developing and implementing Castrol’s long-term technology approach through innoVentures.
“I’m delighted to get the opportunity to work in such an exciting and growing area of Castrol and a pretty unique one: our commitment in taking big innovation risks to build radical new business platforms sets us apart”, said Jon.

Jon joined BP in 2011 in charge of global product development for the Automotive business having worked in a variety of technology, strategy, marketing & business management roles at other large blue-chip companies.
